Local Tourist Attractions
La Porte City includes and is surrounded by attractions to suit any taste. Attractions within town include the Family Aquatic Center, the La Porte City Museum, the City Park, and the Public Library. Surrounding the town is a wonderland for bikers, campers, anglers, hunters, and other outdoor interests. The Cedar Valley Nature Trail offers scenic biking while campers and anglers are served by two parks - Hickory Hills Park and McFarlane Park. There are also substantial state hunting grounds surrounding La Porte City.
Aquatic Center
The La Porte City Aquatic Center, built in 2005, offers a zero entry pool with depths up to 10-ft. Features also include two diving boards, one of which is a high-dive, as well as a twisting & turning water slide!
