Leaving a Legacy

Schools Foundation
There is an exciting new
project underway in our
communities, one that I feel
passionately about- The
Union Community Schools
Foundation. The UCSF is a
501C3 non profit
organization whose mission
is to support the Union
Community Schools vision of
"Education to meet
tomorrow's challenges."
The Foundation will
accomplish this mission by
providing financial support
to enhance and enrich the
experiences of students for
generations to come,
affording an opportunity for
donors who want to leave a
lasting legacy, and by
involving the community in
assuring quality programs,
services and facilities for
the leaders and workers of
tomorrow.
I believe enthusiasm is
contagious and I am excited
about the high caliber of
people from our communities
and school district who have
agreed to play a role in
establishing and promoting
the Foundation. My fellow
board members are a diverse
and thoughtful group of
people who are committed to
our school district. In the
short time I have served as
the Foundation's President,
they have shared many
fascinating facts with me
about our school district
and its accomplishments over
the years. I know if we
continue to work hard, we
will look back at the time
and energy put into this
important campaign and be
proud of the role we played
in protecti
On November 10, 2007, I
hope you will join us at the
Union High School Gym and
Auditorium for an evening of
entertainment, Foundation
program, silent and live
auctions and decadent
desserts. This celebration
of excellence is an
opportunity to help support
this important kick-off of
the Union Community Schools
Foundation endowment!
We have secured the
necessary donations to host
the evening so that all
proceeds will go entirely to
the endowment. What that
means is the price of your
ticket and the support you
give that evening will only
keep growing and making a
difference for years to
come.

tickets can be purchased
from a Foundation board
member or at each of the
school offices in both
Dysart and La Porte City.
The cost of an event ticket
is $20 per person. I hope
you will join us on November
10th or find a way to
support this important
endeavor for our students,
the future of our
communities.
The Union Community
Schools Foundation is many
things to me, a chance to
give back, an opportunity to
do something for our school
district, a challenge I am
excited to take on. I
strongly encourage you to
join us in our quest to
build awareness and foster
support for the endowment of
our community's future. I
