LPC Voters Elect Four New Council Members

The City Council of La Porte City will look dramatically different in 2008, as voters elected four new members to the five person Council at the Municipal Election on November 6. In addition to Mike Spence, who was chosen to complete the final two years remaining of the term originally held by April Neuman, voters selected Sarah Craft, Jane Whittlesey and Todd Butler to serve four year terms on the Council. Jeff Krop, the lone incumbent to seek reelection, was not successful in his effort to retain his Council seat, finishing fourth.

Only 399 of the 1,526 registered voters for the municipal election cast their ballot in La Porte City, an overall turnout of 26%.
